Kat McDonald grew up in Wake County, North Carolina. She graduated from Wake Technical Community College with an Associates in Arts, and North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
After graduating from college, she worked as a legal assistant at a local law firm and decided to pursue a legal career focusing on family law.
With a strong foundation in family law, Kat McDonald earned her Juris Doctor from the Campbell University Norman A. Wiggins School of Law. Her dedication and knowledge were recognized when she was awarded the Spring 2023 Book Award for Family Law Planning.
She has provided pro bono work through the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence, The Child’s Advocate, the Campbell Law Domestic Violence Pro Bono Project, and the Gailor Family Law Litigation Clinic.
